In the Matter of ) Docket Nos. 50-259 Ter.nessee Valley Authority ) 50-260 50-296 BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) - ASME SECTION XI PUMP AND VALVE TEST PROGRAM Enclosure i for NRC staff review and approval is a revised ASME Section XI i Pump and Valve Test Program developed in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55a(g).

This program outlines the requirements for performing the 10-year interval pump and valve tests for units 1, 2, and 3 at BFN. The 120-month interval covered by this program will be from August 31, 1982, to August 31, 1992, as requested in the exemption submitted to you in our letter dated February 17, 1988.

Enclosure 2 is a summary of the changes made to the BFN Pump and Valve Test Program. The changes incorporated are a result of an August 25, 1987 meeting between NRC staff and representatives of TVA held at the Region II offices in Atlanta and subsequent informal telecommunications with the NRC program reviewer. Enclosure 3 is a list of the questions and topics of discussion used as an agenda for the August 25, 1987 meeting. These questions and topics were transmitted to TVA by letter dated September 4, 1987, from Gerald E.

Gears, Project Manager, TVA Projects Division, NRC, and constitute the basis for most of the changes incorporated.
