COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION DOCKET N05. 50-445 AND 50-446 CONTAINMENT P/T ANALYSIS COMPUTER ERROR SDAR: CP-87-12 (FINAL REPORT)
Gentlemen:
On June 12, 1987 we notified you via our letter logged TXX-6512 of a computer error in our containment pressure / temperature analysis which we conservatively deemed reportable based on the potential safety implications.
Our most recent interim report was logged TXX-7074, dated December 10, 1987.
After further evaluation, we have concluded this issue is not reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
The correction of the computer error resulted in an increase in peak containment temperature (following main steam line break) from our original value of 333 degrees F to 345 degrees F.
We have subsequently evaluated safety-related equipment inside containment and have determined that all safety-related equipment inside containment required to be qualified for this condition is qualified for the analyzed peak containment temperature of 345 degrees F.
Therefore, no significant deficiency was created by the increased peak temperature value and our earlier determination that this issue was reportable was based on preliminary information.
