SUMMARY

Month: December, 1987 McGuire Unit 1 began the month of December operating at 96% power, limited by problems with the No. 4 Turbine Governor Valve. The unit was reduced to 88%.

power from 0735 on 12/06 to 1223 on 12/06 to perform tests on the No. 4 Turbine Governor Valve. The unit returned to 96% power at 1630 on 12/06. At 0012 on 12/26, the unit was reduced to 78% power per Dispatcher request. The unit began increasing load at 1034 on 12/27 and held power the same day at 94%, for 1.5 hours5.787037e-5 days <br />0.00139 hours <br />8.267196e-6 weeks <br />1.9025e-6 months <br />, to perform Nuclear Instruaentation Calibration. The unit returned to 96%.

.f power at 2035 on 12/27. At 1322 on 12/28, the unit tripped off line during testing of the Channel No. 2 Level Indicator on the "B" S/G. The unit returned to service at 1521 on 12/29, and increased power to 78%, where power was held to perform Nuclear Instrumentation Calibration. The calibration was completed at 0138 on 12/31, and the unit remained at 78% power for the remainder of the month, per Dispatcher request.

SUMMARY

Month: December, 1987 McGuire Unit 2 began the month of December out of service due to a Turbine /

Generator trip the previous month. The unit returned to service at 1134 on 12/01 and, following a power hold for Secondary Chemistry, reached 100% power at 1444 on 12/02. The unit then operated at 100% power until 12/20 at 0235 when unit output was reduced to 90% due to a faulty test on a Train "B" Hydrogen Mitigation Circuit. The unit returned to 100% power at 1045 on 12/20, where it operated for the remainder of the month.
