Inspection Report 50-353/87-16
This letter transmits our report of the routine resident safety inspection
by Messrs. R. A. Grarm and J. E. Kaucher on November 16, 1987 to December 20,
1987 at the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 2, Limerick, Pennsylvania of
activities authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-107 and to the discussions held
by Mr. Kaucher with Mr. P. L. Naugle and other members of your staf f at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that an activity was not
conducted in fuli compliance wi; NRC requirements, as set forth in the Notice
of Violation, enclosed as Appe1 dix A.
This violation involves the failure to
'
properly classify a design change document affecting safety related work
activities which resulted in the associated failime to perform the required
quality control examination.
This violation has oeen categorized by severity
level in accordance with the NRC Enforcement policy (10 CFR 2, Appendix C).
A response to this report is required by 10 CFR 2.201.
Please follow the
instructions in Appendix A in the preparation of your response.
The response
directed by Appendix A, Notice of Violation, is not subject to the clearance
procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
