Dear Mr. Thadani:
Exemption from ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section XI Attached are copies of the data shee', written up by the EBASCO Level II NDT examiner after examining the 3C" to 24" reducer to pipe welds #1 and #2 on the 24" recirculation line buried section in the containment, and the S.I. re-circulation pipe weld between HCV-383-4 and the containment penetration.
The inspections were performed in response to a verbal request from Mr. E. G.
Tourigny to support our request to be exempted from future inspections of the buried sections of the 24" recirculation line in accordance with ASME Code Case N-408. Omaha Public Power District committed to these exams in Reference (3).
Because N-408 has been approved, this is simply additional information and not strictly necessary to support the exemption.
