Your letter of July 8, 1985, transmitted Revision No. 10 to the Salem Generating Station Security Plan. We have reviewed the information contained in this plan revision and have determined that portions of the revision are consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p), and are considered acceptable.

However, certain other portions of these revisions are not considered accept-able for the reasons stated in the enclosure to this letter. For these por-tions, you are to modify your plan accordingly or revgrt to previously approved plan wording and submit corrected page revisions to this office within 30 days of the receipt of this letter.

If you wish to pursue changing your plan with respect to the portions that are not considered acceptable, you should submit the changes under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90.

Further, the changes to Section 1.3.3 regarding the use of Nuclear Employee Data Systems (NEOS) and Section 9.1 relative to Special Security Measures During Refueling / Major Maintenance Operations of the Security Plan are con-

. sidered to have potential policy implications and have been referred to our Headquarters staf f for review. The Headquarters staff will respond to you regarding these changes.

The enclosures to your above referenced letter and the enclosure to this letter are being withheld from public disclosure since they contain Safeguards Infor-mation and must be protected in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21.
