VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 SAFETY EVALUATION OF NORTH ANNA VITAL EQUIPMENT IAC NO. M779_46 Virginia Electric and Power Company submitted information to the NRC by letter dated, December 6,1991, to address the' concerns of Finding MS 1 of the North Anna Unit 2 Safety System Outage Modification inspection (SSOMI) Report. The NRC advised us by letter dated January 9,1992, that the modifications to the facility and Physical Security Plan at North Anna Power Station proposed in our December 6,1991 letter, would be acceptable. Furthermore, you stated that these " issues will therefore be

-- considerad closed upon receipt of the following:

(1) Reasonable dates for initiation and completion of the changes described in

-(cur) December 6,1991, letter; and.

(2) Ai. mendment' to the North Anna security plan that incorporates the information provided in (cur) December 6,1991-, letter."

In accordance with item (1) above, the engineering for the upgrades and modifications identified in our December 6,1991 letter will commence in January 1993 with construction currently scheduled for completion by July 1995.

On February 21<1992, we submitted Revision 27 to the North Anna Physical Security Plan. Within six months of receipt of a satisfactory Safety Evtluation Report for that revision, we will amend the North Anna Physical Security Plan to define those areas

-described in our December 6,1991 letter, and to.docurnent our current protective measures for those areas. Submittal of the Physical Security Plan amenoment will then complete item (2) ateve.
