20555 Re: Quality Assurance / Program
Dear Mr. MacDonald,
In accordance with our recent telephone conversation, we hereby apply for approval of our attached Quality Assurance Program for encapsulated and special form radioactive material pursuant to 10 CFR, Part 71.
As I indicated during our telephone conversation, we are decommissioning our operations and wish to make a one-time shipment of two devices to the Barnwell site for disposal. These include a Static Charge Reducing Device
.containing 62 curies of Cobalt-60 and a Gama Irradiator containing 955 curies of Cesium-137.
To make this shipment, we propose to utilize the services of Chem Nuclear Systems, Inc. Chem Nuclear will provide the shipping containers, and carry out the actual work involved in packaging and loading the devices.
Attached is a check in the amount of $150.00 to cover the cost of processing this application.
