Dear Mr. Anderson:
l By letter dated February 21, 1997, the staff sent Northern States Power Company (NSP) a request for additional information (RAI) in order to review the proposed amendment to the licensing basis-for the Prairie Island cooling 1
water system emergency intake.
Item number 4 of the RAI asked NSP to do a i
reanalysis of slope stability and to also submit any computer programs used for the reanalysis..However, NRC policy on procurement requires the staff to l
purchase any commercially-available computer programs. Since the computer programs we requested are commercially available, we rescind our request for NSP to provide us with these programs.
If the staff requires additional i
information, such as computer program input parameters, then we will request j
. these items at a later date.
