Gentlemen: -

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. Wise and Dr. J. B. Nicholas of -

this office during the period January 27-31, 1986, of the activities authorized

by NRC Operating License NPF-47 for the River Bend Station, and to the dis-

} cussion of our findings with you and other members of your staff at the con-

clusion of the inspection. -

Areas examined during the inspection included your chemistry / radiochemistry

program, radiochemistry confirmatory measurements, and whole body counting system _

confirmatory measurements. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of

personnel, and observations by the inspectors. These findings are documented in '

the enclosed inspection report.

During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were in -

violation of NRC requirements. Consequently, you are required to respond to
