SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-285/97-08 AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Gambhir:
An NRC inspection was conducted May 12-16,1997, at your Fort Calhoun Station reactor
facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection included portions of your physical security program.
During the inspection one violation of NRC requirements was identified. The violation
involved the failure to submit a legible fingerprint card to the FBI. The violation is cited in
the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice) and the circumstances surrounding the violation is
described in detailin the enclosed report. The NRC has concluded that information
regarding the reason for the vio'lation, and the corrective actions taken to correct the
violation and prevent its recurrence, have already been adequately addressed. Therefore,
you are not required to respond to this letter unless the description therein does not
accurately reflect your corrective actions or your position, in that case, or if you choose to
provide edditional information, you should follow the instructions specified in the enclosed
Notice.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter,
