Executive Vice President Gentlemen: ,

By letter dated September 25, 1985,;th'e Federal Emergency Management Agency informed the NRC of their FEMA 44 CFRL350 finding and determination on the adequacy of offsite plans and preparedness for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. The letter states thiit, " Based on an overall evaluation, I find and determine that the State and. local plans and preparedness for_the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station are adequate _to protect:the health and safety of the public in that there is reasonable assurance that the appropriate protective measures can be .taken offsite in .the event of,a radiological emergency." '
