Ccmbined Inspection Report Nos. 50-317/85-31 and 50-318/85-26
A routine radiological safety inspection was conducted on November 18 - 22,
1985 of activities associated with the 1985 outage at the Calvert Cliffs
Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2.
Areas inspected included external dosimetry,
training, respiratory protection, exposuta control, surveys, procedures, out-
standing items, and posting and labeling. Also, the findings of the recent
Control Room Habitability review were discussed with members of your staff.
Within the scope of the review, no violations were identified. Radiological
controls implemented for outage work were acceptable. ALARA controls imple-
mented for installation of steam generator nozzle dams were commendable.
Section 11 of the enclosed inspection report identiffes deficiencies in the
area of Control Room Habitability. You are requested to reply to the
deficiencies within 30 days of the date of this letter.
The responses directed by this letter are not subject to the clearance pro-
cedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
