We have evaluated information contained in your application dated July 8,1974 and supplementary submittals dated July 23, 1974, September 9, 1974, October 18, 1974 and March 31, 1975 regarding the Phase IIIA coal-ash analyzer and have determined that the device is acceptable for licensing purposes. We have evaluated the device with a total of 8.2 mg (52 mil 11 curies) plutonium contained in sealed sources within the device.

To complete the Phase IIIA record on file, please submit a copy of the " Safety Section" of the operating manual when available.

The Phase IIIA device should not be distributed unless accompanied by a complete manual specific to that device.
