Inspection Report No. 50-354/85-41
This refers to the special, safety inspection conducted by Mr. L. Briggs, of
this office on August 19-30, 1985, at Hope Creek Generating Station, Hancock's
Bridge, New Jersey of activities authorized by NRC License No. CPPR-120 and to
the discussions of our findings held by Mr. L. Briggs with Mr. R. Salvesen and
others of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. The results of this
inspection were also discussed in a subsequent telephone conversation between
Mr. R. W. Starostecki of this office and Mr. R. S. Salvesen of your staff
immediately following the exit meeting on August 30,'1985. During this con-
versation, permission to receive and store fuel in accordance with the NRC
Special Nuclear Material (SNM) License No. SNM-1953 dated August 21, 1985, was
granted.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, measurements made by the inspector, and
observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter
is appreciated.
