NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

I MONTH: March,1997 Catawba Unit 2 began the month of March operating at approximately 51% and increasing. The unit held at 60% power from 03/01/97 at 0205 to 03/03/97 at 1315 and at 69% power from 03/06/97 at 0013 to 1440 pending return to service of "2B" feedwater pump turbine. At 1440 the unit began decreasing power and held at 64% power from 1725 to 1917 to return "2B" feedwater pump turbine to service. On 03/20/97 at 2400 the unit began decreasing power to begin end-of-cycle 08 refueling outage. The unit was taken off-line on 03/21/97 at 0850 to begin end-of-cycle 08 refueling outage. The unit remained in the outage the remainder of the month.
