. NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

i MONTH: March,1997 McGuire Unit 2 began the month of March operating at 100% full power. The unit operated at or near 100% power until 03/13/97 at 1700 when the unit decreased power to perform the turbine control valve movement and feedwater containment isolation valve testing. The tusine control valve movement test was aborted at 2228 when #1 governor valve failed to respond per procedure guidance. The unit held power at 23% on 03/14/97 at 0530 to 03/21/97 at 1104 due to feedwater valve 2CF-30 failed to close in required time while performing valve stroke timing test. The unit increased to 69% power and held from 03/21/97 at 1612 to 03/22/97 at 0025 to perform turbine control valve movement test. The unit returned to 100% full power on 03/22/97 at 0905 and operated at or near 100% full power the remainder of the month.
