A special inspection of ' the personnel dosimetry program was conducted on

January 27-31, 1986, at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2.

Areas . inspected
included . organization,
qualification,
training, quality
assurance, facilities and equipment, procedures, dose assessment computer
software, and calibration sources.
'
Within the- scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
The
program was found to be a high quality program and the staff was found to be
,
qualified and competent.
However, as indicated in the attached report, the
'
basis for your dosimetry calibration factors and the beta dosimetry policy
a
were not documented and substantiated.
These two inspection items remain
unresolved.
Discussions with your staff indicated that the technical basis
!.
for the calibration factors and the beta dosimetry policy will be documented
within three months.
These unresolved items will be examined during a future

inspection.
