As you are aware,10 CFR 170 of the Comission's regulations for license and inspection fees was revised effective June 20, 1984. Section170.12(b) of the revised rule provides that for applications for permits, licenses, facility reference design approvals, and special projects which have been on file with the Comission for review for six months or longer, billings would be made at six-month intervals or when the review is completed, whichever is earlier.
Consistent with the requirements of 10 CFR 170.12(b), we have completed the cost analysis for the Seabrook 1 and Seabrook 2 OL application review for the period June 24, 1984 through December 22, 1984. The costs through that period are $f44,397 for Seabrook I and $29,464 for Seabrook 2.
The enclosures show a breakdown of the review costs by program office. The Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation has made cost adjustments of $4,800 to Seabrook 1 for the previous reporting period leaving a revised cost total for the period June 24, 1984 through December 22, 1984 of $639,597. When the costs of $639,597 for Seabrook 1 are added to the costs of $2.549,537 from the previous billing period, the cumulative costs of $3.189.134 exceed by $111,734 the maximum fee of
$3,077,400 as currently stated in 10 CFR 170.21. Accordingly, $111,734 has been subtracted from the costs of $639,597, leaving a balance of
$527,863 for Seabrook 1.
The Office of Resource Management has been notified to bill your Company $527,863 for Seabrook 1 and $29,464 for Seabrook 2. When making payment, please make reference to the bill numbers.
