Inspection Report Nos. 50-317/85-29; 50-318/85-30
A routine safety inspection of transportation activities was conducted by
Mr. Percy Clemons of this office on October 21-25, 1985 at Calvert Cliffs
Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2.
Areas examined during this inspection
included shipment records, waste classification and characterization procedures,
purchase orders, advance notification, outstanding items, training, audits, and
an outage job briefing.
On October 24, 1985, Mr. Clemons participated in a pre-job briefing that was
presented by the Radiation Safety-ALARA Group Supervisor. All personnel parti-
cipating in the steam generator nozzle dam installation were in attendance.
Discussions of the radiological hazards involved, planning for the job
executiori, and ALARA instructions were excellent and provided for effective
minimization of workers dose.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct a follow-up
item brought to your atterition in the enclosure to or letter dated January 29,
1985. We have no further questions regarding your a> tions at this time.
No violations were identified. No reply to this letter is required.
