In addition, vendor drawing indicates four studs required, but equipment has eight studs.

The cause of thiu deficiency in due to excessive fan vibritions during operation. The discrepancy in the number of mounting stude appears to be an oversight during release tor shipment inspectionc. The inspeelion incident appearn to be an isolated occurrence; however, the vibration problem appears to exist in sister fans from the vendor ~-Indualcial Air Incorporated. A:c+lia, Ohio.

Sa fety..ir.;pllea t ions The tans provide cooling for Lhe dieuel generator spaces.

A failure of one fun would bring a uLandby fan un.

However, the vibration ueems to be preuent in all these f ans, which could lead to a co.~.aun-mode failure. Thlu would result in posulble overheating of essential components, which would recult in loca of essential powet and would jeopardize the capability to bring the plant to a cafe shutdown condillon.

.Ip t+Leici _{Tugfsn TVA has contacled the vendor about the problem.

Documentation of the balance condillon at the Line of ship;aent indicates acceptable' levels of vibration.

A request tur a fleid representative from Industrial Air incorporated to fleid balance and adjuut the fans is in process now.

If induntrial Air cannot balance the fans in the fluid, they will make the necescary modifications to the fans in order to balance them.

Should drawing revisions be required, an ECN will be written at that tic.e.

A tinal report will be provided upon determination ut currective nellun but no later than une year before tuel load.
