Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. C. A. Hackney of this office
during the period October 30 through November 1, 1985, of activities authorized
by NRC Operating Licenses DPR-51 and NPF-6, for Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1
and 2, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. M. Levine and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection included the implementation of the
emergency plan and procedures during a special drill.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of
procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and
observations by the inspectors.
These findings are documented in the enclosed
inspection report.
The enclosed report identified two deficiencies in your emergency preparedness
program.

It is requested that you provide this office with a schedule for correcting
these deficiencies 30 days after receipt of this letter.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations were identified.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to
discuss them with you.
