NIAGARA b10 HAWK POWER CORPORATION NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION UNIT #1 NARRATIVE OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE The station operated during the month of December 1985 with a Unit t

Availability Factor of 95.4% and a Net Design Electrical Capacity Factor of 85.4.

There were no challenge to the Electromatic Relief Valves. Reduc-tions in Capacity Factor were due to a malfunction of the RBCLC temperature control valve resulting in a manual shutdown. Start up was prolonged as a result of a computer outage which resulted in the inability to monitor core thermal parameters thus delaying power increases. Control rod 30-15 was inserted to 00 due to the scram inlet valve leaking. Also, power reductions due to rod pulls. (all rods out) and circulating water intake tunnel icing added to the reduction in the Plant Capacity Factor.
