BROWNS FERRY EXAMINATION REPORT 259/0L-85-03 The NRC administered examinations on November 18-21, 1985, to employees of your company who currently hold licenses to operate the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. -At the conclusion of the written examination, a copy of the exam was left with your staff; at the conclusion of the site visit, preliminary findings on the . operating examinations were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the Examination Report, Enclosure 1. A table summarizing the examination results for each examined individual is provided as Enclosure 2. Copies of the written examination questions and answer key are included in this report as Enclosure 3; utility comments to the examination are attached as. A Requalification Program Evaluation Report is included as Enclosure 4 to this report. This evaluation reports the Browns Ferry Requalification Program as unsatisfactory. Based upon this unsatisfactory evaluation, it is requested that ' you contact this office to arrange for a mutually agreeable time when appropriate TVA and NRC management can meet to discuss the implications of, and corrective Jaction for, this finding. Additionally, your response to Question 8.13 of the Senior Operator Exam has raised concern over the application of the Technical Specifications at Browns Ferry. Be prepared to discuss this topic at the above mentioned meeting; a clarifying change to your Technical Specifications may be needed. In accordance with 10-CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and Enclosures 1, 3, and 4 will be placed in NRC's Public Document Room. Enclosure 2 is exempt from -public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(a) and will not be sent to the Public Document Room. Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact us.
