Dear Mr. Denton:
On July 24 and 25, 1985, South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) met with the NRC Staf f, both NRR and Region II, to discuss the recent Appendix R reanalysis effort and the Region II related concerns identified during the Fire Protection Audit of June 3 - 7, 1985 (Audit Report 50-395/85-26). As a result of this meeting, SCE&G agreed to provide additional information relative to the control logic modification for the steam generator Power Opercted Relie f Valves.
At tachment 1 is a proposed modification which represents a change from the technique proposed on page I-2 of the attachment to our letter of May 29, 1985.
It is based on the additional engineering evaluation and guidance received during the July 24 and 25 meeting with the Staf f. requested the present control logic for the valves and is included to assist in your review.
As you requested, this information is being forwarded by separate correspondence to facilitate the review.
