Dear Mr. Denton:

Reference (a) transmitted Conunonwealth Edison Company's request to amend Sections 3.10 and 4.10, Containment 5tructural Integrity, of Zion Station's Technical Specifications. The purpose of this letter is to notify you that the deletion of page 217a of Zion's Technical Specifications should have been included as part of reference (a), but it was inadvertently omitted.

Section 4.10.3 was included in the proposed change. A portion of Section 4.10.3 was contained on page 217a. This particular segment was incorporated into the proposed change as part of Section 4.10.4.A. This se0 ment of 4.10.4.A was contained on page 218 of the proposed changes that were transmitted with reference (a). The required deletion of page 217a was not discussed in reference (a).

Reference (b) transmitted approval of the requested changes. This approval reflected the original request of reference (a) and did not delete ,

page 217a. Thus, the current situation is that pages 217 and 218 follow each other logically with page 217a in the middle containing a mislabeled surveillance requirement that is repeated on paDe 218. Page 217a does not serve any function and should be deleted.

As provided by 10 CFR 50.91, the State of Illinois is being notified of this amendment request by transmittal of a copy of this letter.
