By letter dated May 3, 1985, Revision 1 to the " Safeguards Contingency Plan, San Onofre Units 1, 2 and 3" was forwarded to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for review pursuant to 10CFR 50.54(p).

This letter responds to Revision 1 textual changes discussed between Mr. A.

McQueen, Region V Safeguards inspector and Mr. R. Beatty, SONGS Security Compliance during July 1985. Accordingly, pursuant to 10CFR 50.54(p),

enclosed are six (6) copies of a description of the textual changes discussed by Mr. McQueen and Mr. Beatty. Revision 1A changes are identified as prescribed in the " CHANGE CONTROLS AND AUTHORITY" Section (page v) of this Plan. Changes described in the enclosure do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of this Plan.

The enclosure contains " Safeguards Information" as specifieo in 10CFR 73.21 and should be protected against unauthorized disclosure.
