R.M. Pulsifer Letter to D.L Farrar dated April 29,1996 On September 1,1996, Comed returned Quad Cities Station Unit 1 to service following the unit's fourteenth refuel outage (01R14). In the course of that outage, Comed completed actions related to various NRC commitments. This letter provides a summary of those actions.
In reference (a), Quad Cities committed to replace all Reactor Water Cleanup System Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking (IGSCC) susceptible outboard supply and return piping and the regenerative heat exchangers with resistant material.
The piping replacement was completed and the regenerative heat exchangers were j
replaced with a modified single heat exchanger train design.

In reference (b), Quad Cities committed to install core shroud repair hardware.
The repair was designed and installed considering through wall 360 degree circumferential cracks at the H1 through H8 welds.
In reference (c), the NRC staff provided a safety evaluation for Quad Cities to operate for one cycle based on the Unit I flaw evaluation of core spray internal piping.
