REQUEST OF AMENDMENTS TilAT ARE IllPLEMENTED IN THE FUTURE FOR LA SALLE UNIT 2 We note that in your August 23, 1985 letter requesting amendments for La Salle Units 1 and 2, you requested implementation of these changes for the first refueling outage for each respective unit. The first refueling outage for Unit 2 is projected sometime in 1987. As was indicated to your staff

-(Mr. Massin), a proposed amendment should not be left pending on a docket-for a long time before implementation. This guidance was provided to your staff at the time you submitted the proposed anendments to incorporate the instruments for the suppression pool water level and water temperature with the reacte shutdown monitoring instrumentation, dated April 18, 1985.

We, therefore, request that you amend your August 23rd request to only reflect the change for Unit 1; and at about the tine for the the Unit 2 refueling outage, this request should be submitted for Unit 2. We also request that this approach be followed for the remote shutdown instrumentation and for all future proposed changes that affect both Units'of the La Salle plant.
