Dear Mr. Harrington:

We received the above referenced letter which transmitted a summary of twenty l

changes incorporated in BEQAM Volume II in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(a). The actual changes were forwarded to this office by means of

Change Information Notice Transmittal Nos. 84-19 through 85-08. These changes included a revision to the Boston Edison organization to reflect the appoint-ment of Vice President - Nuclear Operations, the use of Management Correc-tive Action Request to address process and policy issues requiring management involvement, and several minor changes to clarify program requirements and to reflect changes in documents and forms referenced in BEQAM Volume II.

l The Region I staff reviewed the summary report and the actual changes provided

! in revisions to the BEQAM Volume II sections, as identified on page vii (Revi-l sion 37) of the manual and found these changes to be acceptable as they did not reduce the commitments of your previously approved Quality Assurance Program description.

subject of routine regional inspections.
