4 APPENDIX B NOTICE OF-DEVIATION

'A'rkansas Power & Light Company Docket: 50-313/85-23 Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 License: DPR-51 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted during the period of September 1-30, 1985, and in accordance with NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C, 1985), the following deviation was identified.

Failure to Meet a Commitment Relative to Implementation of B&W Safe-End Task Force Recommendations By a letter dated April 22, 1985, in response to a request from the NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, the licensee committed to implement the recommendations made by the B&W Owner's Group Safe-End T ask Force for

' correction of the discrepancies associated with the high pressure injection / makeup nozzles.

In deviation from the above, the licensee failed to implement all of the recommendations made by the task force. (313/8523-01)

Arkansas Power and Light Company is hereby requested to submit to this office, within 30 days of the date of. this Notice of' Deviation, a written statement or explanation in reply, including: (1) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective' steps which will be taken to avoid further deviation from commitments made to the Commission;.and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.

Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
