Tharafore, the only sites which remain as potentially contaminated sites in Region III are the Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company and the Reuter Stokes Company.

ORNL Concerna: 1)

License was for loose material.

2)

High likelihood that activity could have generated significant contamination.

3)

No verifiable decontamination or closecut survey of site.

4)

Evidence of serious environmental release.

5)

Possible inappropriate disposal of contaminated waste.

6)

Significant waste generated in routine facility cleanup.

7)

High turnover rate of material.

Region III Remarks:

1)

Facilities and materiale referenced in license R-00226 are now covered under current NRC license STB-401.

Facility never abandoned.

Regional Recommendation:

Since the facility is currently licensed and inspected, and Region III otaff is involved in the licensee's decommissioning plana, removal from the list ia recommended.
