DEFINITIONS AP600 Plant Design Criteria (GW-G1-001) - This document l

l provides plant level design criteria and is a design control I

document. The design criteria for System Specification I

Documents are to be consistent with the AP600 Plant Design Criteria, and should reference this document, as appropriate.

System Specification Documents (SSD) - Documents which identify specific system design requirements and show how the O-design satisfies the requirements. They provide a vehicle for controlling and documenting the formal systems design process and for transmitting system design data and interface requirements to all the affected AP600 design and analysis groups.

PROCEDURE I

General A.

An SSD is prepared for each of the plant systems. Each l

SSD includes the functions of the system in the plant; the I

overall system design criteria and objectives; a complete I

description'of the system and its operation; requirements I

for individual components, for system layout, for I

instrumentation and control, for interfacing systems, and for monitoring and testing; expected environmental ennditions and qualification requirements; and a summary Of compliance with extemal criteria.

The format and content of the SSDs shall conform to the I

guidance given in GW-GEP-020 (Reference A), AP600 i

SSD Writers Guide, in addition, each SSD shallinclude I

an AP600 Document Cover Sheet in accordance with I

Exhibit 10. Each SSD shall aise include an AP600 Record of Changes in accordance with Exhibit 16.

The list of plant systems for which SSDs are to be I

prepared is provided in GW-GOX-001 (Reference B), List i

of AP600 Systems.

RESPONSIBILITY / ACTION The following procedure applies to the preparation, revision, and issue of a System Specification Document:

i Systems Engineering 1.

Issue a detailed writers guide for the SSDs to be I

Design Group Manager prepared by the Design Groups.

l 2.

Assign responsibility for the preparation of each SSD to a l

Systems r gineer. Assign responsibility for independent I

verification (peer review) and additional approvals (if any)

I required for design verification (for example, when the I

originating group lacks the expertise for complete i

verification).

Systems Design 3.

Prepare the draft SSD in accordance with the Writers l

Engineer Guide.

I 4.

Obtain independent verification (peer review) of the SSD 1

in accordance with WCAP 9565, DP-3.3.2, " Design i

Verification by Independent Review or Altemate l

Calculations".

I 5.

Resolve all comments from design verification.

I 6.

Prepare AP600 Document Cover Sheet (Exhibit 10)

I including signatures. Obtain required design verification I

approvals using AP600 Standard Intemal Review Sheet, i

Exhibit 17.

I 7.

Issue the SSD in accordance with AP-6.2, Technical i

Document Release and Control.

I Subsequent revisions to a System Specification I

Document shall follow the same sequence of actions as i

Steps #2 through #7 above. For each revision, the i

Record of Changes (Exhibit 16), shallinclude a i

for the change. Approval of the revision shall be obtained from the same groups that were originally required to approve the SSD. Procedure AP-3.2 Design i
