On January 15, 1997, a meeting was held with Union Electric Company (UE) to discuss UE's proposed Technical Specification (TS) amendment that would allow electrosleeving of the steam generator tubes at the Callaway Plant. The electrosleeving process was developed by Framatome Technologies, Inc. (FTI),
and is discussed in Topical Report BAW-10219P, Rev.1, "Electrosleeving Qualification for PWR Recirculating Steam Generator Tube Repair," dated March 1996.
The primary focus of the meeting was the non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques that will be used after installation of electrosleeves in steam generators.
During the meeting, representatives from FTI presented new information in the area of NDE in support of the staff's review of the proposed TS amendment.
