SUMMARY
- CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 - DOCKET N0. 50-302 This letter refers to the meeting conducted at your staff's request in the NRC Region II Office on July 16, 1985. This meeting was related to the application of Fire Protection, 10 CFR 50, Appendix R, and the forthcoming Appendix R inspec-tion at Crystal River. Enclosed is a summary of the meeting topics.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial, and provided for a better understanding of NRC's Appendix R Fire Protection inspection methodology and Florida Power Corporation's Appendix R analysis and design approach.

Florida Power Corporation Facility: Crystal River Unit 3 Docket No.: 50-302 Facility License No.: DPR-72 A meeting was held in the NRC Region II office on July 16, 1985, to discuss the implementation of 10 CFR 50, Appendix R, Fire Protection, in preparation for the special inspection at Crystal River scheduled for July 29, through August 2, 1985.
The following items were discussed in detail:
inspection schedule and scope, electrical associated circuit analysis, electrical modifications; fire protection features; plant shutdown procedures; emergency lighting; and oil collection system for the reactor coolant pump.
