Dear Mr. Keppler:

References (a) through (d) provided information concerning a potential deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) regarding the adequacy of ASME Material Procurement Documentation at i

our Braidwood Station.

The purpose of this letter is to provide an updated status of the corrective actions taken to resolve this issue.

This letter is considered to be a Interim Report.

As previously reported in Reference (c) a ducumentation review for materials received since October 27, 1981 had been extended to confirm that ASME site material purchases since September 1984 are in compliance with the ASME code.

The review has been completed and is under evaluation to assure that corrective action is adequate.

Of the estimated total 4300 heat / lot numbers, an estimated 2200 require additional documentation from the manufacturer / supplier or corrective action to associated records.

At this time approximately 95% of these 2200 heat / numbers have been resolved.

An estimated 260 of the total heat / lot numbers require some additional corrective action to bring the documentation into conformance with ASME Section III requirements.
