Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. Bruce f.
Little
of this office on March 10 through May 27, 1985 of activities at Callaway
Plant, Unit 1, authorized by NRC Operating License No. NPF-30 and to the
discussion of our findings with Mr. S. E. Miltenberger and others of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
During the inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in violation
of regulatory requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix.
The
inspection showed that the violation was identified by you, was given prompt
high level attention and that action had been taken to correct the violation
and prevent recurrence (Refer to Paragraph 5 of attached inspection report).
Consequently, no reply to the Notice of Violation is required and we have no
further questions regarding this matter at this time.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
