Y h g,ggj Eubject! Direct Conversion of i1F6 to g3 This letter Trill supplcraont our licence application for the process to convert UF6 (uranim hexafluoride) into UFh (uranim tettsfluoride).

As a result of our discussions with ycu, ir. J. C. Delaney, and i,r. C. D. Luke, we need to supply four acditional itteas. 'ihe two additional printa requestod are ancicted. The two calculations en the intenctions of the three major uraniuoi containing vessels in the process and the intersction between the one-gallon polyethylcue bottles used in storage have been raade.

Interaction calculations were zaade for an array of 5" diameter cylinders located in poeitions corresponding to the UF6 cylinder, renctor, and filter oc shoan on drawing 3h07-1. All three cylinders were asomed identical and equal to the reactor dimensionc. The reactor is the largest cylinder in the syste. 2,clid angle calculatione (steradians) were mode following the fornulas shown on kuge Ib,..ection B in the

"!!uclear 'afe:,y Guidc" Lullotin 'i1>7016. 1ho cm of the two solid angles calculated fra the reactor glinder is equal to 0 5h3 storadians.

This la in accor*nce with tersgraph 5 listed under Cafe Interactions, tage 2h in "K-1019".

The am of all other solid argle calculations, using the filter or UF6 cylinder as the point of interaction, gives numbers smaller than the above mentioned am. A se=45 a K factor of 0 58 for 5a diameter cylinders, the =+- amber or storadians allonable is 3.2 as shown on Fage 37, Figure 6 in "K-1019".

This system is therefore secuFA to bo quito Safe.
