MALLINCIU(ODT/NUCIZAR L. /ISION, ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI Enclosed for infottnation is a description of an Independent Measure-ments Program we are implementing for the Mallinckrodt Chemical Works, Mallinckrodt / Nuclear Division plant in St. Louis, Missouri.

This program is the fourth of five " pilot" programs to be implemented.

The remaining f acility in the " pilot" program is Indian Point; our implementation of this program is being held in abeyance pending the results of Dr. Deck's discussions with the State of New York concern-ing possibic contractual arrangements.

The Missouri State IIcalth Department has been informed of the program and has indicated no interest in participating in the operation of the program. To our knowledge, Missouri has no monitoring program in effect for thin area; however, in accordance with our policy of cooperating with the States, we will furnish the Missouri State Health Department with copics of the enclosure and will provide the State with data we develop in the program.

The Divisions of Materials Licensing, Radiation Protection Standards and State and Licensee Relations have concurred in the program.
