SUBJECT:

ON-SITE AUDIT OF ILLIN0IS POWER COMPANY DETAILED CONTROL ROOM DESIGN REVIEW (DCRDR) FOR CLINTON POWER STATION As you are aware, the pre-implementation audit of the Clinton Power Station DCRDR is scheduled to be conducted by the Hunan Factors Engineering Branch of the NRC and its consultants from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) on October 28 through November 1,1985. An exit interview is scheduled for the morning of November 1, 1985.

In preparation for the audit, it is requested that Illinois Power Company make the following arrangements to facilitate the audit process:

e' 1.

Ensure that DCRDR review team personnel are available and ready to discuss or respond to NRC staff questions during the audit.

2.

Be prepared to provide any documentation of the DCRDR results, including review materials such as task analysis work sheets, survey and/or inventory checklists, operator questionnaires and other completed data collection fonns used in the DCRDR.

3.

Provide for access to the control room, remote shutdown panel and simulator for the NRC staff and contractors. The NRC staff also requests clearance to bring camera equipment on-site to take photographs at any of the above areas.

4.

Provide for conference or office space for NRC staff meetings with the DCRDR review tean and for the NRC audit team's private use.
