SUBJECT:
RIVERBENDTECHNICALSPECIFICATIONREV}EW In order to remain on schedule for the review of Technical Specifications for OL applicants, I have assigned four professionals to the Riverbend Station review. As these are new people to the group this effort will serve as an extensive trainir.c exercise and in addition will provide the foundation for our efforts on the other BWR-6s (Clinton and Perry).
The three applicants have informed the staff that they would like to participate in all meetings in order to learn from each other. Should problems be raised on Riverbend, Perry and Clinton would be aware and review their own Technical Specifications.
I also believe that this intensive review by the staff will enhance the quality of the end product.
Riverbend has infortned the staff that they intend to have GE and Stone & Webster assist in the rcvicw pr: cess.
It is car ur.derstcr, ding ti,at Riverbend will also use operations staff to support the review effort.
For your information, a site visit is scheduled for Nover.ber 1 and 2.
This will allow the two staffs to interact and begin the dialogue process. The Resident nd Region have been infonned of our activ ty. }
