CRYSTAL RIVER PLANT RESPONSE TO HURRICANE ELENA I am taking this opportunity to commend your Crystal River staff on their prompt and effective response action during Hurricane Elena. As the storm approached the Crystal River site, your staff demonstrated foresight and initiative in
, prompt activation of emergency facilities and adequate staffing of the emergency organization. During the duration of the hurricane, the Crystal River staff kept the NRC well informed of plant status and assessment actions being taken and j planned. The staff was also cooperative with NRC representatives in installation of the NRC's emergency high frequency radio communications equipment.
