NINE MILE POINT - UNIT 2 00CKET NO. 50-410 Interim Report for a Problem Concerning Velan Valve 2 MSS *MOV112 Body Material Qualification (55(e)85-25)

Description of the Problem During a review of documentation it was observed that the certified material test reports provided -by the valve manufacturer did not document the test coupon heat treatment duration and temperature as required by ASME Section III, NB-2211.

A separate test forging.has been located that has the same heat lot number as the valve body.

Heat treatment and impact testing of test coupons will be perfonned and evaluated.

The matter is still being investigated and a final report will be submitted by December 20, 1985, i
