FIRST INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency The design criteria for the contalment isolation and leak testing systen, N4-NI-Irl40, requires at least two contaiment isolation barriers with the following minime requirements:

contaiment isolation valves, piping between these valves, and closed systems used as isolation barriers shall be, as a minimm, A!B Safety Class 2.

The drain line and the compressed air line attached to the fuel transfer tube (penetrations X-37 and X-78) each have only one mantal isolation valve within the seismic category I, safety class 2 botndaries.

Interim Prcgress TVA design documents are being reviewed to detemine the requimd document revisions to comply with code and safety requirements. When this mview is complete, the documents will be issued and the required modifications will be made to the plant piping to provide the required contalment isolation.
