COMPLETION OF REVIEW 0F ITEM 1.1, POST TRIP REVIEW PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND PROCEDURES, OF GENERIC LETTER 83-28 FOR JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 By letter dated November 4,1983 you responded to Generic Letter 83-28 with regard to required licensee actions based on generic implications of the Salem ATWS events. We have completed our review based upon input from our consultant, Science Applications International Corporation. Based on our further review, the enclosed evaluation is provided for your information and action as noted thereia.

We conclude that the actions which you have taken are acceptable. However, successful implementation of recommendations described in Sections III.C and III.E of the evaluation are needed.

Please advise us of your intentions in this matter. Any alternatives you may consider will be handled on a plant specific basis.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
