UPDATE OF REP 0PT ON CODE VALIDATION Late in November 1984, the Accident Source Term Program Office (ASTP0) initiated Task 3 to update the coas validation report; the emphasis of Task 3 is on the CORCON code and the VANESA code, which model phenomena of a core / concrete interaction. For your information enclosed is the draft report for Task 3.

The report discusses the experiments that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been sponsoring to obtain information on core / concrete interactions. Preliminary results are shown and compared to the code predictions.

(Please note that the report is draft. Also, the results are preliminary).
