This is in response to your October 5,1984 memo to F. Gillespie on the subject proposed rule.
Based on discussions with T. Dorian and J. Lieberman of ELD, we propose the following:
- 1. Consolidation of infomation collection requirements (recordkeeping and reporting) in two sections - We will make this change when preparing the final rule.
- 2. File of a report on irretrievable well-logging sources in County office -
ELD agreed to withdraw this comment because a licensee is already required to file the report at the State agency that regulateegthe drilling of wells.
- 3. Check with EDO on whether this paper should be converted to a Commission paper - T. Rehm was contacted. He indicated that unless the proposed rule contains significant new requirements, the EDO would sign the proposed rule. Therefore we propose that Part 39 continue to be an EDO paper.
- 4. Misc. comments - We have incorporate these comments.
We will forhard a revised version of the paper for your concurrence during the week of October 15.
