NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-338/96-08 AND 50-339/96-08
Dear Mr. O'Hanlon:
On August 16,1996, the NRC completed an inspection at your North Anna Nuclear Site. The
enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During the week of August 12-16,1996, an inspection team observed activities focused on
the plume exposure portion of your emergency preparedness exercise which was conducted
,
on August 13,1996. The emergency response observed during the simulated accident was
considered satisfactory.
Your atteation is directed to the exercise weakness identified in the enclosed Inspection
1
Report. As required by Section IV.F of Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50, any weakness that is
identified shall be corrected. NRC identified one Exercise Weakness concerning a delayed
dose assessment in paragraph P4.7.b. of the enclosed report. Accordingly, please advise us,
within 45 days of the date of this letter, of the corrective action you have taken, or plan to
take, showing the estimated date of completion with regard to this exercise weakness.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enciosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
