Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Messrs. N. C. Choules and
H. A. Walker of this office of activities at Point Beach Units 1 and 2 on
June 4-7, 1985, and the corporate offices in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 12,
1985, authorized by Operating Licenses No. DPR-24 and DPR-27.
It also refers
to the discussion of our findings with Mr. Zach and members of the Nuclear Power
Department at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. The inspection consisted of an examination of procedures and
records and interviews with personnel.
It was conducted to determine the
status of your actions taken in response to previous NRC inspections.
Certain activities, set forth in the Appendix to this letter, appear to be a
deviation from commitments which you have made in previous correspondence
with the Commission.
Please advise us in writing within thirty days of the
date of this letter of the corrective action you have taken or plan to take,
showing the estimated date of completion with regard to this deviation.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room.
The responses directed by this letter and the accompanying Notice (Order)
are not subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management
and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
