%n J. G. Keppler, Chief, Reactor Testing and Operations Branch Division of Compliance, Headquarters NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY LICENSE NO. DPR-22 MONTICELLO HIGH READINGS ON ENVIRONMENTAL THERM 0 LUMINESCENT DOSIMETERS The attached inquiry report describes the results of three TLD readings at Monticello for the period March-21, 1972, through April 18, 1972.
Readings other than those listed are presumed to be normal. NSP is continuing their review of operating records and intends to prepare a summary of operating data, release rates, and wind directions for the period covered by the TLD measurements, which we will review. The Minnesota Public Health Department employee who processed the dosimeters has indicated to Mr. Larson that he suspects there is a possibility that the TLD's may have been exposed to a source. Our principal inspector and Radiation Specialist will be at the site on April 21 to review operating information and collect environmental and gas effluent samples.
We will keep you informed of developments.
Caston Fiore111 Senior Reactor Inspector
